Horse Training

At this stage we do not have the facilities to offer horse training under saddle but this service may become available in the future.

Artificial Insemination

I (Cassandra Ryder) am a Harness Racing New Zealand certified AI technician. With prior organisation, I am happy to help out with AI of semen from other stallions.

Foaling

Very limited spaces are available and preference will be given to mares to be served by Made In The Shade. If you don't quite have the time to safely foal your mare we can look after your precious mare prior to foaling. We are also very well located to local vets with Franklin Vets being located just 1.5km away and Anexa clinics at huntly, ngaruawahia and gordonton.

Basic Training & Weaning

We at Calibre Quarter Horse Stud are available to help with your youngster. We can help train your weanling or yearling if you don't quite have the know how to get your youngster halter trained and quiet enough to be washed, covered, picking up his or her hooves, lunging and floating. we offer this service at our place or yours.

Freeze Branding
Available on demand only. We can provide A-Z cipher and 0-9 numbers as well as using your own custom brands with our dry ice. We can offer a white hair freeze brand and for dark horses or a bald freeze brand for light horses. In my opinion dry ice freeze branding is the most painless form of freeze branding. We don't sedate our horses as they don't usually move very much.
